How to Play Grounded Multiplayer Mode
The good news is, you can play Grounded with your friends, the bad news is there is no way to run a dedicated server for the game. One person will be the host, preferably the one with the fastest upload connection/computer hardware. This will give the best experience for all the other players involved. Another thing to consider is the host will have to be playing the game or willing to leave it running to allow the other players to finish the session. So you wouldn’t want the guy that can only play 30 minutes a week to host a group.
Grounded does allow save sharing, I have not experimented with this much so you will have to investigate how it works.
Launch the game and select multiplayer Host Online Game.
Next you will select new game of course.
This part is unsual. You can select a standard world or you can select a shared world. A standard world is just that, like any other game once the host leaves the game is “over”, at least until they fire up the game again. A shared world simply lets you share the save so that your friends can continue playing after you leave, pretty cool really. You can even control which friends can have the save.
When you share a world you can see a few things about it, like who the “owner” is, the date and time, along with game difficulty.
That is about it, hosting a grounded server is pretty easy.
